Facebook 
Facebook is an American social media networking service
It was founded by Mark Zuckerberg, along with fellow Harvard College students and roommates Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes

History of Facebook
  • Facebook was initially launched in in February 2004 
  • Later in May 2005 Facebook get some investments of 12.7 million dollars by Accel partners
  • On September 26 2006 Facebook open for everyone limit of 13 years old valid email address
  • Facebook become the most popular social media website in 2009
  • In 2010 July Facebook announced its 500 million users worldwide
  • In 2011 Facebook become the second most visited website after Google
  • China has blocked in 2009 so that no country can collect china’s user data
  • In 2012 users at Facebook start making their fake IDs for some spam works
  • Show Facebook start filtering their database  in 2013
  • In 2013 Facebook daily block its 20000 uses per day
  • In 2014 Facebook completes its 1 billion users on mobile phone worldwide
  • In 2015 new things start happening which is fake news spreading on social networking sites for spam works

  • So in 2015 Facebook start developing its artificial intelligence remove the fake messages for stories and other sensitive contents from Facebook
  • In 2016 Facebook worked on its beta app development
  • It 2017 Facebook invested in many start up plans and work with them
  • In 2018 Facebook was charged for 500,000 euros by UK watchdogs for failing to respond to data erasure request
  • In July 2018 Facebook become the first company to loss hundred billion dollars worth of market value in one day by dropping nearly 630 billion dollars to 510 billion dollars
  • 2019 March a man from New Zealand shares a live stream footage video of attacking with a gun 
  • After this Facebook takes 29 minutes to remove and detect the live stream video and it was recorded that 1.3 million copies of same videos but also published on Facebook after that video

Facebook internal coding
  • Facebook initially used only PHP language but later on 
  • Facebook use JavaScript for its front end 
  • As PHP was a scripting language so it's really slower than other languages such as c, c ++, Java at that time
  • Then Facebook decided to use c, c ++, Java and python for it back end work
  • Facebook used Erlang to speed the backend chat service as at every time Facebook has almost 700 million active users
  • Chat system of Facebook in running on ejabberd based server

FACEBOOK privacy by Zuckerberg
  • Over the last 15 years, Facebook and Instagram have helped people connect with friends and communities. 
  • But people increasingly also want to connect privately in the digital equivalent of the living room. 
  • As I think about the future of the internet, I believe a privacy-focused communications platform will become even more important than today's open platforms. 
  • Privacy gives people the freedom to be themselves and connect more naturally, which is why we build social networks.
This privacy-focused platform will be built around several principles:

  • Private interactions. People should have simple, intimate places where they have clear control over who can communicate with them and confidence that no one else can access what they share.
  • Encryption. People's private communications should be secure. End-to-end encryption prevents anyone -- including us -- from seeing what people share on our services. 
  • Reducing Permanence. People should be comfortable being themselves, and should not have to worry about what they share coming back to hurt them later. So we won't keep messages or stories around for longer than necessary to deliver the service or longer than people want them.
  • Safety. People should expect that we will do everything we can to keep them safe on our services within the limits of what's possible in an encrypted service.
  • Interoperability. People should be able to use any of our apps to reach their friends, and they should be able to communicate across networks easily and securely.
  • Secure data storage. People should expect that we won't store sensitive data in countries with weak records on human rights like privacy and freedom of expression in order to protect data from being improperly accessed.
