Hacking refers to exploiting(misusing) system vulnerabilities(weaknesses) and compromising security controls in order to get unauthorized(which you are not allowed to) and inappropriate access to the system resources.

Means to try to get into the system without any authorization to destroy, steal confidential data or to perform some other malicious attack.

Hackers do it for financial gain, for taking revenge, for staling information, for degrading the reputation, for peer recognition, for thrill, for intellectual challenge or just for the curiosity.

ETHICAL HACKING

Ethical hacking also known as penetration testing or white-hat hacking, involves the same tools, tricks and techniques that hackers use but with one major difference that ethical hacking is legal.

CYBER HACKING

Cyber hacking is a technical skill set, what that means is that being able to understand the hacking process and executing it is simply a technical skill set.

Hackers are traditionally categorized in 3 parts i.e White Hat, Black Hat and Grey hat hackers. 

• Black-hats are looked upon as the destruction causing agents and illegal type of hackers.
• Grey-hats are the computer hacker or computer security expert who may sometimes violate laws or typical ethical standards but does not have the malicious intent typical of a black hat hacker. They make approx 98% of the total hacking community lie.
• White-hats are the one’s who use their skill with the sole purpose of improving one system and make is immune to Black hat hackers.

Different levels of hackers depending on their skill level

1) The Automated Tool

The Automated Tool(Level 7):These are the level of hackers that have the ability to create their own set of programs for any required any purpose. As they have a very vast amount of technical knowledge from network monitoring and packet sniffing to use and analyze the data.

2) Technician Class Hacker

Technician Class Hacker(Level 2–6): An individual that understands the process could easily use these freewares for their own purposes. These level of hackers are known as Technician Class Hacker.

3) Script Kiddies

Script kiddies(Level 1): These are the bottom level hackers who somehow got their hands on a few scripts of malicious codes or malicious programs etc.
